A bit of history
Grandfather Romualdo, thanks to a lottery win, managed to buy land and a car: a 'FIAT Topolino'. In those days there were only three cars in the village! A land of about 700 square meters, with a vineyard (today there are some vines), and a farmhouse, where a barn and a chicken coop have been created. In the family that land has always been referred to as The Magotina. The son Giulio, bricklayer, over the course of several years will renovate the farmhouse, also building a new villa at the side. Maurizio, nephew of Romualdo, lived here for many years, till he moved to the villa, so decides to propose it as a holiday home, well understanding the great qualities of that place, in which he has fortune to live.
The location
On the hill just five minutes from the lake, the Magotina offers an unparalleled view of Montisola and Lake Iseo. In winter you can admire the snowy peaks of the highest mountains to the west, in summer after short showers, often you can admire a rainbow, sometimes two, crowning the entire Montisola. The village on the lake can be reached via two pedestrian paths: a small road with a staircase, with spectacular lake view, or a wider cobblestone path. You can therefore choose to take a walk to the village, to continue on the lakefront or simply sit for a drink at the local bars.
Interiors of good taste
The Magotina was created from the renovation of the old farmhouse. From Casa Magotina, you can wake up and look out from the small windowsill to admire the lake. With external walls almost entirely in stone, it features an internal corner made of the same material, as well as decorations made from tree trunks sourced directly from the area. The stairs are decorated with a handrail and red brick arches. The entrances are independent from the main house.
Tranquility
It is possible to relax inside the Magotina, which includes a large green area with various fruit trees. The Magotina features a pergola with a lake view. Here, a table with chairs and sun loungers is available for lunches, dinners, or simply for relaxing, all with a lake view. The particular climate of Tavernola is mild in winter and cool in summer, making it possible to sleep without air conditioning, even with the windows open, given the absence of mosquitoes.
Services
A five-minute walk away there is a small minimarket, very convenient for daily shopping. You can comfortably leave your car in our private covered parking lot. The Magotina, being located in a quiet area away from places with higher numbers of tourists, guarantees safety and tranquility.
